The Today Show + Karina

A few months ago, Karina employee Hillary got the chance of a lifetime: scare the pants off of Today Show co-host Darlene Rodriguez. Dressed as a zombie, Hillary hid inside a two-way mirror and scared Rodriguez as she looked into it. Hillary was helping promote the movie The Last Exorcism 2. Take a look at the video for a good laugh!

Scary, right?!

Story of The Dress: Daisy

Now, I wouldn’t want to give our other dresses a complex by saying one dress is ‘more joyful’ than the others, but The Daisy just might be.  I named this dress after the happiest and heartiest of the flowers, which has always been an inspiration to me.
It wasn’t just the beautiful flower that inspired me though. Just like the flower; Daisy (owner of DIG boutique) has been positive and strong friend and definitely needed a dress named after her!

Bloom where you’re planted, like a daisy of a daffodil.
- Old English gardening saying.

This sweet wrap dress has a sleeveless ruffled collar that gives you full coverage, and hits just at the knee. Perfect for an afternoon of antiquing with your girlfriends, sipping wine on a patio somewhere or picking a few wildflowers of your own!

Story of The Dress: Eva

Classic, iconoclastic, a little bit sexy.  That’s how I feel about Eva ‘Evita’ Peron, the inspiration behind this sassy little number.

“I am my own woman.”
“My biggest fear in life is to be forgotten.”
“I demanded more rights for women because I know what women had to put up with.”
- Eva “Evita” Peron

You can tuck those spaghetti straps demurely under a cardigan or allow them to slip coyly off your shoulder during a warm afternoon walk through Buenos Aires.  The empire waist flatters everyone, from mamas-to-be to a president’s wife who sing dramatically on balconies.

Story of The Dress: The Audrey

We named this sweet little number after everyone’s favorite Tiffany-coveting pixie, Audrey Hepburn.  As stylish as she was wise, we think Ms. Hepburn is someone we could all emulate.

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
-Audrey Hepburn

The Audrey’s V front & V back style is classic, which means you can wear it dinner, lunch or even for a breakfast of coffee and cheese danish as you stare at over-priced, blue-boxed jewelry.

Story of The Dress: Gala

My sweetheart of a friend Gala inspired this dress with its sweetheart neckline.

Okay, and Salvador Dali might have inspired me a little bit, too.

I dedicate this novel to Gala, who was constantly by my side while I was writing it, who was the good fairy of my equilibrium, who banished the salamanders of my doubts and strengthened the lions of certainties…
- Salvador Dali, about his beloved wife Gala

And just like my girl Gala, this dress is go-anywhere versatile.  Saturday run to the farmer’s market?  Yes!  Dinner with friends?  Uh-huh.  Play date with the hippest moms in the neighborhood?  You bet.

The Story of the Rita Dress

All I wanted was just what everybody else wants, you know, to be loved - Rita Hayworth.

Named after the dramatically beautiful Ms. Hayworth this is a classic wrap-dress that falls elegantly just above the knee. Simple yet sophisticated, the Rita can navigate the workplace or a cocktail lounge with panache.

It’s perfect for all figures with it’s super-flattering design which highlights the smallest part of a woman’s waist.

Start the day energized and relaxed with Rita, a cashmere sweater + ballet flats for the office. After work you deserve a fun night out with friends, pair it with nude high heels, wrap + a large pearl necklace.

Rita is classy but not high-maintenance,  made with limited edition fabrics that are easy to wash and wear. Plus there’s short sleeve Rita + long sleeve Rita.

Brava, Rita, brava.
